Fraiser Old Fashioned
Fraiser, Bourbon, sugar gomme, bitters and orange…. Made slowly to be savoured slowly.
Ingredients
- 1 part Fraiser
- 1 part Bourbon
- 1 spoon caster sugar.
- 1 orange peel
- 4-5 dots Cocktail bitters
- Cubed ice
- Block ice (this drink is best served over a big block of ice if you have access to it)
- Cherries (for garnish. 1-2 of your preferred type)
If you are using a standard sized old-fashioned glass (around 10oz) then 30ml of each ingredient is one part.
Equipment
- Cocktail tin or mixing glass (this drink is stirred)
- Hawthorn strainer
- Bar spoon (or stirring implement)
- Old fashioned glass (or whisky glass or similar)
Method
1. Add sugar and bourbon to tin or mixing glass and use the flat end of the bar spoon or a muddler to grind the sugar into a fine paste.
2. Add Fraiser.
3. Add cubed ice and stir. This drink is best chilled and well-diluted. Around 40-50 times for this drink is a good rule of thumbs (so 40-50 stirs)
4. Strain over fresh ice into the glass (preferably block)
5. Zest orange over the drink and glass.
6. Garnish with your choice of cherry
7. Feel sophisticated.
